Bright Side Lacrosse Camps are designed to teach the lacrosse skills needed for success. Players build confidence from individualized instruction and team strategy. Skills are taught by seasoned coaches according to each position in areas of passing, shooting, dodging and checking. Our camps provide knowledge to new players and players with experience. This camp places a large emphasis on gamesmanship. Furthermore, each player is encouraged to have fun and learn.

Ages: Girls and Boys entering grades 2-8

Dates: Monday to Friday, August 1st - August 5th, 2016

Time: Full Day: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

           Half Day: 9:00 AM - 12 Noon

Day I

  • 9:00-9:30 Warm up and Stretch

  • 9:30-9:35 Water Break- split into age/skill groups

  • 9:35-11:05 Stations

    • Proper stick mechanics for throwing and catching

    • "Be a Threat": Change of Speed, Change of Direction, Change of plane

    •  Ground balls: the approach, the battle and maintaining possession

  • 11:05-11:35  King & Queen of the Crease (Sumo Lacrosse)

  • 11:35 -11:55 Spoon and the Egg / Musical Ground Balls

  • 12:00-12:50 Lunch

  • 12:50-1:00 Warm up and stretch

  • 1:00 -1:15 Water break-split into teams

  • 1:15 - 2:00 Team practice

  • 2:00-2:50 Controlled scrimmaging

  • 2:50-3:00 Announcements and Homework


Day II

  • 9:00-9:30 Warm up and Stretch

  • 9:30-9:35 Water Break- split into age/skill groups

  • 9:35-11:05 Stations

    • Dodging Objectives

    • Shooting: technical breakdown of feet, hips, arms and hands.

    • Defensive footwork and positioning

  • 11:05-11:35  Clear / Breakout

  • 11:35 -11:55 Ride

  • 12:00-12:50 Lunch

  • 12:50-1:00 Warm up and stretch

  • 1:00-1:15 Water break-split into teams

  • 1:15-2:00 Team practice

  • 2:00-2:50 Controlled scrimmaging

  • 2:50-3:00 Announcements and Homework


Day III
